Cancellation and Absence Policy

Last updated: July 25, 2026

One-to-one lessons are reserved time: when you book, that slot is yours and nobody else can take it. These rules keep things fair for everyone — including your teacher. They’re simple, and they’re applied consistently.

The three rules

SituationYour lesson credit
You cancel more than 24 hours before the lessonNot deducted — the credit goes back to your pack, book again whenever you like
You cancel less than 24 hours before the lessonDeducted
You don’t show up (no notice)Deducted

The 24-hour deadline is counted from the scheduled start time of the lesson, in the timezone shown on your booking confirmation.

How to cancel or reschedule

Cancel or reschedule directly from your member space (your bookings), up to 24 hours before the lesson. Rescheduling more than 24 hours ahead is free and unlimited — life happens, just move the lesson.

If something urgent comes up less than 24 hours before, tell us anyway (hello@socialfrench.com). It won’t change the rule automatically, but we’d rather know.

If your teacher cancels

If we have to cancel a lesson (illness, emergency, technical failure on our side), your credit is never deducted, and we’ll offer you a new slot as soon as possible.

Late arrivals

The lesson ends at its scheduled time even if you join late; the time missed is not made up or refunded. If you are more than 20 minutes late without any word from you, the lesson is treated as a no-show. If your teacher is late, the full lesson duration is honoured (extended or compensated).

A word on flexibility

We know real life doesn’t always respect a 24-hour rule. In genuinely exceptional situations, we may — at our sole discretion, case by case — decide not to deduct a credit. This is a goodwill gesture, not a right, and it can’t be invoked as a precedent.

What you’ll see in your classroom

If a lesson couldn’t take place (no-show or late cancellation), your classroom space for that session stays visible with a note — so your credit history is always transparent and verifiable.
